Short Bio

Tammy-Jo Mortensen completed a Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Alberta and a Master of Music degree in pipe organ performance at McGill University. In 2014, she completed the Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting at the University of Alberta. She has an extensive church music background as music director, organist and pianist, choir director, singer, handbell ringer and conductor, and was the director of music at Robertson-Wesley United Church in Edmonton from 2003-2019.  She has performed solo and chamber recitals in Canada, the US, Denmark and England and has been recorded by CBC radio and television, and has conducted in Australia and Korea.  Currently, Tammy-Jo is the Operations Manager for the Kokopelli Choir Association.  She is the Music Editor of the United Church of Canada's Gathering magazine, teaches privately and is the harpsichordist for the Alberta Baroque Ensemble.
